  • We use a research-based holistic approach to addiction. We do not believe our clients are alcoholics or addicts for life and we do not believe that people have to tell themselves that they have a disease for the rest of their life. We help identify the reason the person started using their addiction as a coping mechanism, we look at the underlying issues behind it, identify their current needs and wants, identify their current thinking patterns, and help change their needs and wants to positive things and help develop positive thinking patterns through an ecletic approach of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Reality (Choice Theory).

Charlton and his staff are second to none! They truly care about their clients. I had a recent trauma in my life, and they went above and beyond any and all expectations! Before my experience with TRI County, I was skeptical about the whole counseling process, but these guys completely changed the way I thought about their profession and the way I thought about myself, and the impacts my behaviors have on myself, my loved ones and the world around me in general. Trust the process, it can change your life!

All members of Tri County Counseling I interacted with were pleasant and professional. I attended weekly group sessions with Mike Peerenboom as the counselor, and he was always very well spoken, engaging, and comforting. Jessica at the front desk was beyond exceptional with anything I needed as well. Any questions I had, I knew Jessica was one phone call away with an answer or help.

Information pertaining to our community

A BIG thank you, Gulf Coast Community Foundation and Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation, for the generous grant from the COVID-19 Response Initiative. COVID-19 has changed the dynamics of substance abuse and mental health in our community. Individuals are anxious, depressed, and overdosing. This grant will be used for mental health and substance abuse treatment to help our community. One person dies by suicide every two hours in Florida on average. This is something we must stop! Thanks to this grant, we can further help the people in our community. Thank you!
